Large Antique Arts & Crafts Fire Basket with Finials

This is a fine antique cast-iron fire basket with a beautifully ornate, high-arched backplate. The upper section is crowned with a classical sunburst mask motif, while the surrounding surface is richly decorated with scrolling foliage and delicate garlands.

Large intricately twisted openwork finials flank the piece, these are topped with polished brass caps and set on large brass ball and claw feet, adding a striking contrast.
