A fine example of a 19th-century Bath stone fireplace surround.
The antique piece has been hand-carved from solid Bath stone, delivering a warm tone. The reclaimed fireplace features an arched opening with inner mouldings, clean lines and chamfered-edged jambs.
The Gothic Revival chimneypiece features an arched inner moulding with simple chamfered detailing on the jambs, giving it an understated yet architectural presence that reflects the period. The surround is supplied in three solid sections—lintel and two jambs. The piece has been gently restored in-house to retain authentic surface character and natural patina.
