Antique Carrara Marble Chimneypiece

Of rare design and generous height, this chimneypiece is carved from fine Carrara marble. 

The lintel is comprised of two elements; the higher component has 3 simple corbel forms to support the bevelled mantle shelf. Thumbnail details are seen along the jambs and lintel and frame the opening. 

A unique design that delivers an original period piece.
